Most tea has a long journey before it reaches your cup.
It's grown in China, India, Sri Lanka, or Japan. It's harvested, dried, processed, shipped across an ocean, warehoused, distributed, and finally packaged — sometimes months after it left the plant. By the time it reaches a grocery store shelf, the person who grew it and the person drinking it couldn't be further apart.
We do things differently at Flavorful Tea and Fruit Company. And it starts with where we are.
We're a Wisconsin Company — And That's a Feature, Not a Footnote
We're based in Menasha, in the heart of the Fox Cities. We grow a number of our own herbs and botanicals right here in Wisconsin. When you steep a cup of our tisanes, some of what's in that bag came from Wisconsin soil, grown in Wisconsin gardens, and handled by Wisconsin hands.
That's not a marketing line. It's just the truth — and we think it matters.
Wisconsin has a rich agricultural heritage. Our soil grows extraordinary things. And we believe there's something meaningful about drinking a tea that carries a connection to the land you live on, not just the global supply chain.
What "Wisconsin-Grown" Actually Means in Your Cup
When we say Wisconsin-grown, we're talking about the herbs, botanicals, and fruit ingredients that we cultivate or source from local farms. These include dried botanicals used in our tisane blends, fruit elements that give our blends their bright, natural sweetness, and seasonal ingredients that reflect what Wisconsin actually grows.
This is why our teas taste the way they do. When you steep a blend made with Wisconsin-grown herbs, you're tasting ingredients that were alive and growing nearby, not traveling the world in a shipping container.
Global Flavors, Local Foundation
Here's what we love most about our approach: Wisconsin roots don't limit us — they amplify us.
Our 128+ blends draw from tea traditions around the world. We carry green teas from Japan, oolongs from Taiwan and China, and black tea blends inspired by the great tea-producing regions of South Asia. The Camellia sinensis plant — the source of all true teas — doesn't grow in Wisconsin's climate, and we're honest about that.
But the herbs, fruits, and botanicals we blend with those teas? Many of those can come from right here. And when we source globally, we source with the same intention and care we bring to our local ingredients.
The result is a cup that genuinely travels the world — while staying rooted in Wisconsin.
The Class Behind This Post
On June 12, 2026, we taught a class at Wei Gardens in Black Creek called "Wisconsin Roots: From Our Farm to Your Cup." We walked a room full of curious tea drinkers through exactly this story — where the ingredients come from, how a plant becomes a blend, and how to taste the difference between a tea that was made with intention and one that wasn't.
It was one of our favorite classes yet.
If you'd like to attend a future class — or bring a Flavorful Tea class to your organization, campus, or community space — we'd love to hear from you. Reach us at flavorfulteaco@gmail.com.
